Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and an exuberant persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides clear, easy to learn techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell worked at top New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and surroundings. In addition, she appeared in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the state of New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for culinary arts and cooking from very young. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her when she finished with A Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing learning experience for me. I was unable to learn enough, didn't perform enough or work hard enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her time spent in Italy made her more aware and appreciate Italian style of living and the culture and it has had an impact on her food and culinary experience. Burrell was part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of kids facing obstacles. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for awareness of children with diabetes. In her role as a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to share her passion for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has said, "I feel blessed to be able be able to share the passion I have to others.
