Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born in New York City to actors Melissa D. Canaday and Edward James Hyland. At the age of four she began her career in the industry with voiceovers and commercials. Private Parts (1997) was her first film. The Object of My Affection was her next film. She appeared in Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in a park and was fostered by Josie. Sarah continued to work with Amy Carlson ("Josie") several times: Falcone (2000) and Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was named one of the younger "Audrey Hepburns" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000) the same year she was also cast in the role of "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999) which starred Kathy Bates, Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth. Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Alongside her work in television and film, Sarah studied voice, hip-hop, ballet, jazz, tap, Theatre Dance, and performed with her tap and Theater dance class at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A New York-born , raised girl, Sarah spent much of her time working in the fields of television, film, as well as voicing a number of radio ads in addition to traveling with her father, Edward James Hyland, and working at different theaters in the country. She was home schooled by her mom until 2nd grade, and then went to Public School. When she was in 6th grade she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) which she attended until 2008 when she graduated. Sarah is now 18, moved to Los Angeles, CA, after which she became in the air with the name "My American Family". Once she was accepted by the airline, the name was changed into Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently playing Haley Dunphy, the oldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) won numerous awards, but the most notable was the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
